Sustainable Transport Advocate
Executive Director / FABIO
Born on 14th January 1965, Kayemba Patrick is a Development Practitioner,
Researcher, Trainers, NGO Manager, and Social Development Change Agent
with an MA in Community Based Development of Nkumba University and a
Bachelor Degree of Development Studies from Nkumba University.
He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Transport Planning and Management
from Galilee International Management Institute – Israel, Diploma in Project
Planning and Management of Uganda Chamber of Commerce and Industry,
Higher Diploma in Business Studies – Accountancy, He has specialised in
Policy advocacy on issues of Sustainable Transport and Governance. He has
over 20 years’ of experience in Coordinating and Managing Development
Projects of all nature that include structural development, evaluation of
projects and programs, midterm reviews, and poverty alleviation initiatives
He is currently the District Chairperson Iganga District Local Government.
Formally he was the Executive Director – The First African Bicycle
Information Organisation - FABIO 1999- 2016.
Kayemba was the Chairperson of Transparency International Uganda, 2012 -
2016 and a member of the Standing Committee of Economic, Social and
Cultural Council - ECOSOCC of the African Union for ten years 2006- 2015.
He initiated and was Chairperson of the Civil Society Coalition on Transport
CISCOT- Uganda among other positions of responsibility.
He has special expertise in advocacy for good governance, democracy and
promotion of Active Transport and Participation Citizens in policy
